But how can you maximise your spring cleaning efficiency in order to not be put in a messy spot during your cleaning? Number one rule: Always go from top to bottom. And room by room. Finish completely one room before starting another one. Start with cleaning the ceilings, walls, windows, and then you can clean the furnitures and, finally, the floor.

Second rule, change some small accessories. You can keep it budget friendly while making a big difference. For example, when you clean your vestibule, change the doormat for a brand new one. Doormats tend to fade quite rapidely and can give your entrance an old and messy look. Do the same for the Kitchen mat and all other little mats that you have in your property. Also, you could change the toothbrush holder as they can get dirty quite easily. Same goes for the toilet bowl brush and other bathroom accessories that you have. Those little changes can make a great impact on the overall neat look of your property.

Third rule, refresh all your fabric furnitures, like your sofas, canape and pillows. If your furniture fabric can be taken off, put all the fabrics in the washing machine and air dry them. For a spring cleaning, you want to open all of your kitchen cabinets, empty them completely and clean them with a good scrub. Do the same for the fridge, oven and microwave. You want every corner to be cleaned from all the food crumbs accumulated during the year. Then, I would recommend to wipe out some of your condiments like spice containers, oils and vinegar bottles, etc. You can always use this time to sort the food that you need and throw away the one that have been there for a while.
